‘Avengers 2′ Gets A Title, ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ — Not Based On Miniseries?

hollywood-movie-newsSome big news that everyone is excited about is that Avengers 2 finally has a title, Avengers: Age of Ultron. Marvel unveiled this to fans at Comic-Con on Saturday. With the recent Age of Ultron miniseries that took place in the first half of 2013, fans assumed that this would be the basis for the story. Well it seems that is incorrect. Marvel caught up with director Joss Whedon and he share a couple of bits of information about the upcoming film. First, the story isn’t based on the Marvel Comics miniseries of the same name, it does borrow a few things that they need and can use, but they doing our own version of the origin story for Ultron. Secondly, as this is the introduction of the sentient robot named Ultron, it will not involve an appearance by its creator, Hank Pym. So this also shoots down the theory that we would be seeing Pym, aka Ant-Man, in the Avengers sequel before showing up in his own solo movie later in the same year. Avengers: Age of Ultron is set to release on May 1, 2015. (Via CBR)
