It finally looks like some good news for Marvel’s Ant-Man film. They have announced today, after many prospects for a new director since Edgar Wright’s departure from the project, a new director. As I posted this morning, late yesterday Peyton Reed‘s name was one of the top picks for Marvel. Now it looks like he has been picked to take over the director’s chair. Reed’s work includes The Break-Up and Yes Man.
Writer Adam McKay, who was also in the running to direct, will be making contributions to the film’s script. McKay had to either turn down, or was never offered, the position, but it looks like he’ll have time to help with the script.
Ant-Man will be directed by Peyton Reed, it is to star (officially so far) Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas, along with (unofficially) Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, and Michael Peña. It is currently still scheduled to be released on July 17, 2015. ((Source: Marvel)
