One of my favorite movies this summer, better yet, this year; is Pacific Rim. The movie was just pure fun to me. It is a childhood dream come true, with giant robots fighting monstrous creatures called, Kaiju. The Kaiju have certainly been a big hit with fans. Without a doubt the creatures were pretty interesting looking. Thanks to Legendary Pictures, an interview with conceptual artist Guy Davis is available. The interview also has a bunch of unused early Kaiju concept designs too. If you are not familiar with Davis‘ work, he’s an incredible artist. He really creates some great work, definitely worth checking out.
If you are interested in more behind-the-scenes stuff from Pacific Rim, then check out the recently released, Pacific Rim: Man, Machines, and Monsters book. All of Guy Davis’ work can be found within it too. If you are a fan of Otachi, Slattern, Knifehead or any of the other Kaiju from the film, then you are in for a treat. You can heck out the gallery of images mirrored below, and the interview with Guy Davis here. (Source: Legendary via CBM)
